Sea Lavender / Sea Weed is also known as sea sphinas or sea spider. Sea Lavender / Sea Weed grows on the more higher parts of the schor. This is sludge which rises above the water line. It is a 'pioneer plant' and often grows in places where a year earlier sea bead grew. There are different types of Sea Lavender / Sea Weed. There is a form that grows in so-called rosettes. This form is age of majority and grows on rootstocks, on the edges of creeks and near sea bead. Another form is the one-year-old. It is often lighter in color, germinates directly from seed and sometimes forms large even fields on top of the schor. Sea Lavender / Sea Weed has a salt of taste because the salt water absorbs. It is less salt in taste than sea bead. Sometimes Sea Lavender / Sea Weed is light gray because it separates excess salt. A Sea Lavender / Sea Weed plant can be harvested several times. At the end of the season plants will start to flower. They then form flower stems with beautiful 'Margrietous' flowers.
