Description

Mussels are available in all kinds of variations and are consumed a lot. The mussel is probably the best known among the shellfish. The mussel is a two-piece shell with a dark blue/black colored shell and can reach a diameter of 8 cm. The mussel is also known internationally as Blue Mussel and is found in the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea and the North Sea. You can consume the mussel from the wild, which is often large, but often has little meat. Commercial mussel is mainly grown. The cultivation of mussels is done in different ways. A common method is the so-called soil culture or the hanging culture.
