Description

Wild sea bass is one of the more luxurious fish species but is not available all year round. The sea bass is grown intensively to meet the high demand. Sea bass is usually grown in the size 200/300 grams and 400/600 grams each. This is the most common sorting for trade. Large cultivated specimens are more difficult to obtain, because the sea bass grows slowly when it has passed 600 grams. Farmed sea bass generally has slightly duller skin and the fins are often somewhat dull, which is characteristic of farmed fish.
