Description
European perch is a well known freshwater fish. This bass is also known as red bass or common bass and is known to many sportsmen. From a culinary point of view, this fish is relatively unknown. European perch is closely related to the famous pike bass and looks almost the same. The European perch is only 50 cm in size and can reach a weight of 3 kg. Characteristic are her belly and tail fins colored orange/red. This is why the fish owes its name to it. Like the pike perch, this European perch has a green colored appearance with some dark vertical stripes on the flank.
