Description

The kibbeling is a snack consisting of pieces of cut pollack that have been taken by the batter and then fried. The word 'kibbeling' originates from salted cod-catch waste, which in the nineteenth century is an important component of food for the Dutch people.

Preparation

Heat
Fry the shortening in oil or fat at 180°C for about 2-4 minutes until it is golden brown. Bake the fries in oil or fat at a moderately high temperature for about 10-12 minutes. Turn the product regularly. Preheat the oven to 220°C (oven with fan support 200°C). Place the product on a plate suitable for use in the oven and let it cook for 15-17 minutes.
