Octopus is an ink(fish) like and is also called poulpo. The name ‘eight-armed’ means that this ink(fish) like has a head with directly attached the eight arms (octo = eight), also called tentacles. Octopus has two rows of typical suction cups on the tentacles with which it can move, but with these suction cups the octopus can also taste and determine whether something is edible or not. The color of the octopus may vary greatly, usually this is brown-red. If there is a danger, the octopus may change color. Octopuses that feel threatened can also spray a cloud of ink to dispel its call managers. At the bottom of the head, where the legs meet, the octopus has a distinctive mouth, which looks like the mouth of a parrot in shape. With this beak the octopus can easily pulverize seafood. Octopus has a very large family, consisting of over 700 species. The one most suitable for consumption is the octopus vulgaris which is found in the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea and the South Atlantic. The octopus can achieve a length of 100 cm with a weight of 6 kg.
