Description

The Japanese coquille is highly regarded worldwide and is widely eaten. This coquille occurs in the wild in the northern waters of Japan and lives up to a depth of 50 m. Appearance this shell has a brown/purple color and can be 20 cm in length. This coquille is very similar to that of Alaska. Although the Japanese have finer ribs on the shell.
